Cigarette Menthol Ban: Banned from May 20th 2020
It’s happening. The menthol ban for cigarettes of that flavour is coming into force on the 20th of May 2020, in only a few days. What does this mean?
This handy guide from the Association of Convenience Stores will help spell it out. But in short the menthol ban means:
- It is ONLY Menthol cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco that are banned.
- After the 20th of May, you cannot purchase cigarettes or hand rolling tobacco of a menthol flavour legally in the EU or the UK. All other menthol smoking products currently legal will stay that way… for now.
- Customers should be aware that anyone selling menthol cigarettes after this point will not be doing so legally, and that the potential for counterfeit cigarettes of this kind (with their massive risks) appearing after the menthol ban is very high.
What can I do to cope with the Menthol Ban?
